Seth Godin is a great marketer, one that I admire, read his books and agree with in so many ways.
This latest blog post is in relation to how debt and marketing have been tied together.
He starts off by saying it is a simple MBA lesson. I say it just is common sense. Why carrying debt for things that do no go up in value is logical I never could grasp. I know there have been times in my life where I did use OPM (other people’s money) for things that I should not have purchased.
Fortunately, today I know better. Dave Ramsey takes it one step further and talks about how this is scriptural as well, from Proverbs 22:7, "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave of the lender" (NRSV).
Obviously it is not God’s plan for you be in debt. Debt weighs you down, keeps you from enjoying life and a full relationships with family friends and with God.
